Alford Charged For Beating Granddaughter After Catching Her With Boy

Police have arrested Kareem Alford for allegedly beating his granddaughter after catching her with a boy.

The granddaughter said Alford "caught her and another boy her age doing dirty/inappropriate things together."

Alford, 35, of 1154 Main St., is charged with child abuse. Other charges he is facing include possession of marijuana for resale, possession of crack cocaine, aggravated burglary, domestic assault, tampering with evidence and evading arrest.

The mother of the girl said she had her daughter stay with Alford over the weekend.

She said when she came home she had bruises all over her body.

Alford told her he "whooped her because she was misbehaving."

The girl said Alford hit her with a belt several times all over her body.

Police said she had several bruises/welts on both her arms, chest and legs.
