English Tea Room Closes After 20 Years

  • Friday, August 25, 2017

The English Tea Room, located in the Grand Hotel on South Market Street, is closing after 20 years in business.

The owners said on their Facebook page that they had lost their lease.

They said plans to add another owner and move to another location had fallen through.

The owners said, "We are deeply disappointed to end the 20 years of this endearing place. It has been more than just a restaurant to most of us. It's been a place of friendships, celebration, and a refuge in a hectic world.

"We thank you for being our customers in this unique place. We will miss serving you and being a part of your lives."
