Rep. Gravitt Names Finance Committee For Register Of Deeds Race

  • Monday, August 28, 2017

Republican State Representative Marc Gravitt has announced his finance committee and leadership team for his campaign to run in the May 1, 2018 GOP primary for Hamilton County Register of Deeds, which will be an open seat with the retirement of six-term incumbent Pam Hurst.

Rep. Gravitt, owner of Gravitt Auctions and Appraisals, said, “With an incredibly noisy election cycle involving so many other local and state races, our team understands that raising and managing a budget to effectively reach voters is an essential part of the process.

I am deeply grateful and extremely humbled for the support I am receiving and the commitment of these community and civic leaders to begin our work now.”

Tony Sanders, former chairman of the Hamilton County GOP Party, will serve as chairman of the campaign’s finance committee, which will also include the following people:

Joel Barnett, Jay Bell, Dr. Keith Helton, Donnie Hutcherson, Dr. Chris and Tracie LeSar, Dale Mabee, Mike Moon, Robert Nodes, Hal North, Barry Payne, Claude Ramsey, Geoff Ramsey, Emerson Russell, Jeff Sykes, Roger Tuder, Greg Vital and Nathan Walldorf

Barry Watson, campaign treasurer, said, “Marc is a fantastic public servant, whom I have known for almost 30 years. He will continue serving the citizens of Hamilton County with integrity and effectiveness, as he has done in other positions. This finance team includes doctors, CPAs, real estate developers, engineers, surveyors and Realtors who all interact with the Register’s Office as part of their operations. Their support demonstrates Marc is the right person to lead the Register of Deeds office going forward.”

In addition to naming his finance committee, Rep. Gravitt also announced Vince Butler will serve as his campaign manager and Robin Smith as his campaign consultant.

The primary for Hamilton County elections is set for Tuesday, May 1, with early voting starting April 11, 2018.
