Former School Board Member Chip Baker To Make District 2 County Commission Race

Former County School Board member Chip Baker plans to run for the District 2 seat on the County Commission.

Mr. Baker, who is the longtime executive director of Friends of the Festival that stages the Riverbend Festival and other events, will officially launch his campaign at a reception on Sept. 19 at the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club.

Commissioner Jim Fields is not planning to seek a new term.

Those set to take part in the reception include Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, state Senator Bo Watson and Reps. Gerald McCormick and Patsy Hazlewood.
