The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team announces its playing schedule for the 2017-18 season. There are four fall events balanced by five in the spring before the postseason starts in April.
The Mocs are a couple of weeks away from taking the tee. The squad opens Sept. 15-17 at Vanderbilt’s Mason Rudolph Championships. The three-day, 54-hole is the closest to campus this campaign competing at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Furman’s Lady Paladin Invitational (Sept. 22-24) is the following week.
After a month layoff, the Mocs return to the Palmetto Intercollegiate (Oct. 22-24) on Kiawah Island, S.C., and close out the fall in Dallas for SMU’s Trinity Forest Invitational (Oct. 30-31).
Things start early in the spring. A trip south to Melbourne, Fl., for the Moon Golf Invitational gets the spring underway Feb. 18-20. The southerly trek continues with the UNF Collegiate (Mar. 5-6) in Jacksonville.
Next up is the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational (Mar. 16-17) for the program’s second foray into Mexico all-time, this time in Puerto Vallarta. The regular season concludes with the LSU Tiger Golf Classic (Mar. 23-25) and Brickyard Collegiate (Apr. 8-10).
The Southern Conference Championships return to Hilton Head, S.C.’s Moss Creek Golf Club. UTC won five straight league titles – 2010-14 – on the North Course. NCAA Regionals are 7-9 with 24 teams and 12 individuals looking for berths in the NCAA Championships May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Ok.
