Waste Of Taxpayer Dollars

  • Monday, August 7, 2017

As a resident of Chattanooga my whole life, I take pride in our city. I'm a hard working individual that has paid taxes my whole life and as such, expect those dollars to go towards bettering Chattanooga. More specifically our roads and streets in which we travel.

A road's condition affects all of our vehicles and if not properly maintained, can cause significant damage. With that said, Cassandra Smith Road is long overdue to be repaved and repaired. This road helps thousands of individuals avoid traffic lights and potential accidents by cutting from Hixson Pike to Highway 153.

This road was closed for repairs/paving a few weeks ago and was down a total of three weeks. When it reopened, there was only one pothole filled in and zero paving completed. This is unacceptable and whoever oversaw this operation needs to be reprimanded.

Such a total waste of taxpayer dollars and an inconvenience for a lack of service. This road beats vehicles up daily and is costing us money. Fix the road once and for all.
