David Alan Wooten, 44, Identified As Person Shot On Aug. 14

David Alan Wooten, 44, has been identified as the person involved in an officer involved shooting with the Chattanooga Police Department and Rossville Police Department on Aug. 14.

During the course of an investigation, officers of the two departments made contact with the suspect at the 5000 block of Rossville Boulevard. A short time later, shots were fired by law enforcement and the suspect was struck by this gunfire.

Wooten was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Friday on unrelated charges.

This investigation is on-going. When the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the District Attorney for review.
