Cologne Thief Hits Kohl's In Dalton

  • Monday, September 11, 2017

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who stole more than $200 worth of cologne from an area store. Police are hoping someone will recognize the shoplifter from surveillance pictures, or perhaps just his pleasant aroma.

The theft happened on Sept. 9, at the Kohl’s on Shugart Road. A dark-skinned male with close-cropped dark hair and a trimmed beard wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans with white sneakers and black shoelaces entered the store and began to remove boxes of cologne from a shelf.

The suspect then took bottles out of their boxes, removed each bottle’s security tag, and then concealed the bottles in his pants. The suspect then left the store and drove away in a maroon-colored van. In all, the man got away with $222 worth of cologne.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact Officer Matthew Ray at 706 278-9085, ext. 9153 or by email at mray@cityofdalton-ga.gov.
