Broderick Wilbur, 57, transitioned from this life into eternity on September 8, 2017, in a local hospital.

He was born on November 24, 1959, in Chattanooga, Tn, where he lived the majority of his life. Brod, as he was well known, was a member of the 1977 graduating class of Kirkman Technical High School, where he was an extraordinary athlete in both track and football.

Broderick was musically gifted in the area of drums. He shared his gift by playing for various churches around the city of Chattanooga. Along with being musically and athletically talented, Broderick was a gifted artist. He utilized his drawing skills as a freelance landscape architect.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Willie Lee Wilbur, grandfather, Benjamin Wilbur and twin children, Broderick and Roderick Wilbur.

He is survived by his loving, dedicated mother, Eunice Wilbur, two children: Demetruss Wilbur, Sr. and Ashley Wilbur, a loving grandson, Demetruss Wilbur, Jr., a very dear and devoted friend, Malvalean Long, all of Chattanooga; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 7-8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral home at 1101 Dodds Ave.
