Lea, Sybil Kerby

Sybil Kerby Lea, 84, of Rossville, went to spend eternity with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2017.  Sybil was born July 11, 1933 to Melvin J. and Nancy Ann Elizabeth Kerby of Henegar, Al.  She was a graduate of Sylvania High School Class of 1951.  She retired from Fillauers in 1999 after 20 plus years of service.  She was a member of Pea Ridge Baptist and attended Frawley Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Jack Kerby, sisters: Pat Shippey and Dorothy Kerby, and a grandson: Tyler Slaughter. 

She is survived by a son:  Michael (Theresa) Lea, two daughters:  Denise (Terry) Slaughter,  and Darlene (Dennis) Hurt, and grandchildren:  Angela Hale, Jeremy (Melissa) Christopher,  James Hurt, Lyndsay Hurt, Kerby Lea, and Morgan Slaughter and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Ken Wolfe and Rev. Bill Gardner officiating.  Interment will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery, Henagar, Al.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
