Woman Sues City, Medical Firm After She Was Solicited Following Wreck

  • Friday, September 15, 2017

A woman who received solicitation calls from a medical firm after she was involved in a wreck is suing the firm and the city of Chattanooga, which makes crash reports available at the Police Department.

Dorothy Woodward is suing the city, the Chattanooga Police Department, Riverview Medical Services and Lakendra Porter in Federal Court.

The suit, filed by attorney James Kennamer, seeks to be declared a class action.

It says five groups regularly check the wreck reports at police headquarters on Amnicola Highway - including a chiropractor office and a law firm.

They are listed as Pyramid Management for Landmark Medical/Cheney Mason DC, Moore Road Medical, Gateway Media, Southeast Spine and Nerve Institute and Warren and Griffin. The suit says Pyramid Management is not a registered firm in the state and Gateway Media "is also possibly a fake name."

The suit says those groups are reviewing the accident reports "for the purpose of solicitation."

It says the Driver's Privacy Protection Act forbids the release of personal information for bulk distribution of surveys or solicitation.

The complaint says Ms. Woodward got two solicitation calls from Ms. Porter from the Riverview Medical office on Lee Highway. She recorded both.
