Kenneth “Leon” Cox, 82, of Dalton, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017. 

He was the son of the late Earl Thomas Cox and Bonnie Gowin Cox and was preceded in death by his sister, Edna. 

Leon was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, was choir director at many churches and sang on the gospel broadcast for many years on W.B.L.J. radio along with the Gospel Broadcast Trio. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Delores Lewis Cox of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Kenton and Nancy Cox of Snellville, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Karmon and Scott Suits of Varnell; grandchildren, Trevor Suits and Merrily Suits; sister and brother-in-law, Selva and Odell Cochran of Tunnel Hill; brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Doris Cox of Rocky Face; nieces and nephews. 

Services for Leon will be on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Cantrell officiating. 

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. 

The family requests that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to Antioch Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2103, Dalton, Ga 30722-2103.
