Dorothy Guinn
Dorothy S. Guinn, 96, of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017, at her home.
She was a charter member of First Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Guinn was retired from East Ridge High School where she worked in the cafeteria for 21 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Therlow T. Guinn; a son, Jim Guinn; two granddaughters, Darlene Guinn and Nancy Guinn; her parents, Martin Frank and Cordie Stevenson and a brother, Bill Stevenson; her beloved pets, Putt-Putt and Babee’.
Survivors include her son, Bill P. (Pam) Guinn, of Ringgold; daughter, Linda Guinn Dowdy of Rome, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Joy Muir of Ringgold; grandchildren, Trevor Guinn and Trent (Holly) Guinn, both of Ringgold, Laura (Randy) Taylor of Summerville, and Tracey Guinn Walker of Rossville; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) Morgan, Taylor Guinn, Easton Guinn, Jesse Taylor, Ashleigh Frank, Cara Walker, Carson Walker, Kaylie Guinn, Kynlie Guinn and Kaiser Guinn; great-great-grandchildren, Jase Frank, Larissa Frank, Landry Morgan and Reese Morgan; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kim Walker’s health care team, especially Cheri Boyd, Pauline Ansley and Bonnie Hendricks.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Reverend John Andrus officiating. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery will be private.
Pallbearers will be Lee Millard, Lee Tullis, Jim Citty, Tom Finch, Jim Cordell and Bobby Weber.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
