The Bradley County Grand Jury on Wednesday issued replacement indictments against Sheriff Eric Watson.
His attorney, Jim Logan, said, "The initial indictment was fatally defective and our motion to dismiss was good. We wanted to keep our speedy trial date and agreed to allow the State apply to the grand jury and allow a superseding indictment to be filed.
"The alternative counts are the same vehicles and the same offense involving the same vehicles."
Sheriff Watson again made bond at the county jail and then returned to his sheriff duties.
