Shirley Jones
Shirley L. Jones, 76, lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017, in a local health care facility.
She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Cupp and mother, Almeta Cupp Gibson.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Russell H. Jones, Jr.; daughters, Jamie Haun (Steve), and Lisa Messier (Tommy); grandchildren: Chad Haun (Lauren), Malorie Cissom (Brandon), Allison Reeves (Kristian), and Kathryn Messier; great-grandchildren: Carter Haun, Charlie Mei Haun, Cannon Haun, Livie Joy Haun, Emmalyn Haun, Lucy Haun, Landon Cissom, Baylor Cissom, and Blake Cissom; sister, Linda Baldwin; several nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers, Janie Bowman, Amanda Jones, and Sonya Ownbey; and best friend, Shelby Presswood.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Sammy Hooker officiating. Chad Haun, Brandon Cissom, Kristian Reeves, Tanner Meachen, Clay Jones, Alvin Sluder, and Logan Haynes will serve as pallbearers.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Suite 6, Chattanooga, TN 37421 in memory of Shirley.
