Doris J. Spurgeon, 93, of Rossville, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 in a local health care facility.  She was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Eula Almeda Johnson.  She was a graduate of Lakeview High School, where she played basketball and for more than 50 years, held the single game girls scoring record.  She was a lifelong member of Lakeview First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband:  H. P. (Larry) Larimore, Rossville, and two sons:  Patrick L. (Jean) Spurgeon, Frederick Maryland, and Dana H. (Judy) Spurgeon, Charlotte, NC;  a brother:  Robert J. Johnson, Grayson, Ga.; a sister:  Billie J. Cole, Vernon Hill, Va.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildlren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lakeview First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Spinks officiating.  Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield  Parkway.
