The wife and I have noticed that in the past few years that there seems to be more talk, (All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Fresh Air, Living on Earth, New Dimensions, On the Media, Scenic City Round Table, This American Life, To The Best of Our Knowledge, Weekend Edition Saturday, Weekend Edition Sunday, etc., etc.), than walk (music) on WUTC 88.1 FM.
We listen at various times, anywhere between 3:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Totally random.
With this in mind we decided how to make our yearly contribution. Starting each January we put $150 in an envelope to donate to WUTC 88.1. When we turn on the radio in the car, if there is talk we take a dollar out of the envelope. If there is walk (music) we put a dollar in.
As of Sept. 26, there is $4 in the envelope.
More walk and less talk, people.

I'm just the opposite of Mr. Terry. I have myriad places to get music, but nowhere else in Chattanooga area to get intelligent information, stimulating opinions, and in-depth coverage by NPR and various programs.
If I want music, I have plenty of choices. If I want intelligent, thought-stimulating talk beyond local topics, there's WUTC.
I'll take all the talk Mr.Terry, you can take the walk.
