McCann, Harry, Jr. (Cleveland)

Harry McCann, Jr., 85, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at a local hospital.

He was born Dec. 31, 1931, to Harry and Esther Wilson McCann, Sr. in Chicago. Harry retired after 35 years as a steel worker for the Republic Steel Inc. He also served our country in the Navy.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Esther McCann, Sr.; his wife, Catherine Dwyer McCann; sons, Tim McCann and Darren McCann; and brother William McCann. 

He is survived by sons, Robert McCann and Dennis McCann; grandchildren Kate McCann and Daniel McCann; siblings, Alex McCann, James Patrick McCann and Elizabeth McCann as well as special friends and caregivers Ronald and Nancy Howard.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 28. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2 p.m. with participation from the Navy Honor Guard.
