Held Long Career With McKee Foods And Was An Avid Hunter

Christopher Sean Sullivan, 48, of Ooltewah passed away suddenly on Monday, September 25, 2017, after a brief illness. 

He attended Ooltewah United Methodist Church.  Chris was a graduate of Tyner High School class of 1987 and Chattanooga State College with a degree in Advertising Arts.  He was employed with McKee Foods for 29 years and for 15 years was the Corporate Fleet Safety coordinator. Chris was a Certified Transportation Professional with the National Private Truck Council and a certified director of Safety with the North American Transportation Management Institute. He was also affiliated with the American Trucking Association and the Tennessee Trucking Association. Chris was a former officer of the McKee Foods Collegedale Fire Brigade.

He was actively involved in the Ooltewah Youth Association, current president of Ooltewah High School Football Boosters, coach of eXposure baseball for several years, and was actively involved in the Ooltewah community. He had taught Junior Achievement at Wallace A. Smith Elementary and was an avid hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Sullivan and his grandmother, Marie Gallaher.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Tina Henry Sullivan; sons, Jake and Nick Sullivan; mother, Becky Gallaher Sullivan; three sisters, Tracey Sullivan, Amy Griffith and Jennifer Sullivan; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on  Thursday, Sept. 28, at Ooltewah United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dwight Kilbourne officiating. Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road and from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on  Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ooltewah Youth Association, 6838 Villa Terrace, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363, Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital, 2000 6th Avenue South, Birmingham, Al. 35233 or to the Chattanooga Heart Institute at Memorial Hospital, 2501 Citico Avenue, Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.
