Ooltewah High Student Struck By Hit And Run Driver; Airlifted To Hospital

An Ooltewah High School student working for a landscape company was struck by a hit and run driver while weed-eating a ditch on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened at approximately 4:20 p.m. near the 5958 block of Snow Hill Road.  
 
The student was flown by LifeForce helicopter to a local hospital directly from the scene. 

The driver of the hit and run vehicle was apprehended shortly after the incident. 

No names are being released at this time as this is an active investigation and due to the fact it involves a juvenile.
 
The present condition of the student is not known.
