Diana Kim Gatewood, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.

Kim was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Memphis. Kim was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved sports, traveling, and gardening, but most of all, she loved her family.

She will forever be remembered as “Mimi G” by her grandchildren. She was the woman who could tell you anything you wanted to know about sports and spoil her family with the most delicious home cooked meals. She was a firm believer in “the more the merrier,” and always up for a game of cards—no matter what time of day or night. She always put her family first and never missed out on a good time. Most of all, Mimi G will be remembered as the woman who loved life and never gave up.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vivian Vaughn.

Kim is survived by her husband of 54 years, Odis T. Gatewood, Jr. (Ted); her children, Ted (Wendey) Gatewood, Cathy (Chuck) Pruett, and Charlotte Flegal; her grandchildren, Taylor (Pat) Flynn, Rebecca Gatewood, Austin Gatewood, Kaki Pruett, Charlie Pruett, Anna Claire Pruett, Tucker Brannon and Sara Grace Flegal; sisters Sandra Neyman, Linda (Joe) Neyman, Terry (Tommy) South, all of Memphis; brother-in-law Cliff Gatewood of Memphis; sister-in-law Linda (Jim) Stuart of Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Jan. 20, from 1-3 p.m., and a memorial service will follow at Hamilton Funeral Home at 3 p.m., with Dr. Fred Steelman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson 423 531-3975.
