Nina Dudley Benoche was 85 years of age when she went to be with her Lord on January 15, 2018.
She lived with her daughter, Peggy (Ken), in Cleveland, Tn. She attended North Cleveland Church of God. Before moving to Tennessee, Nina lived in Yorktown, Va., and attended both World Outreach Worship Center and Parkview Church of God.
Nina fought a five-year battle with dementia, but she passed from congestive heart failure in the home of her daughter, Peggy Hamons (Ken) of Cleveland where she had been under the care of hospice for 1½ years. She had be bedridden for the last seven months of her life due to a fall.
Nina was born on April 2, 1932, in Sampson County, N.C. Her parents were the late Emmett and Etta Dudley. She had 8 siblings, Gib, Corena, Henry Winston, Paul, Janie, Angel, Willisteen, and Nadeen. She is survived by 2 of her sisters, Angel Heinzman of Clermont, FL and Nadeen (Tom) Lime of Williamsburg, VA. She also had a nephew, Tom (Gloria) Dudley who was like a brother.
Nina was married to Jack Benoche for 42 years. They had four children, Peggy (Ken) Hamons of Cleveland, TN, Linda Wallace of VA Beach, VA, Jackie (Jeff) Tank of La Grange, KY and Donny (Martha) Benoche of Newport News, VA. She had eight grandchildren, Brian (Sherry), Tara (Dre), Sharon (Greg), Audrey (Eric), Austin, Kyle, Tad, and Cherie. She had 16 great-grandchildren.
Nina loved God and served Him with her whole heart. Her favorite song was “Blessed Assurance.” She is home now. We will miss you mom. You were the best! We’ll see you some day. You showed us the way.
Nina will be laid to rest in Newport News, Va., on Jan. 20. The family request your prayers.
