  • Wednesday, January 17, 2018
Mindy B’s Deli, located at 828 Georgia Ave., has announced details of the 6th Annual
Sandwich Throwdown Contest.

Mindy Benton said, "The contest is held annually to invite the community to be directly engaged in the menu. It is held in two rounds. Round One is strictly online and consists of sandwich submissions and voting via MindyBsDeli.com or our Facebook page. It is open from Jan.
17-31
.

"Round Two or the Live Round consists of voting with your purchase and runs Feb. 5-9. The overall winner will be announced Feb. 9 with their sandwich being the featured weekly special for the following week then added to the menu for at least the next year.

"The contest is open to everyone in the Chattanooga area. Individuals are invited to submit their
sandwich creation via the website or Facebook and will be available for public viewing and
voting after approval for meeting contest guidelines. The three submissions with the most online
votes at the end of round one will advance to round two where they will be placed on the menu
for one week. The top selling sandwich at the end of the week will be declared the winner, and
earn the right to grace our menu for at least one year.

“We love the Throwdown and look forward to it each year. It’s a great way to get to know our
existing customers better and meet many new friends along the way. We enjoy seeing, and
tasting, the creations that Chattanoogans bring to the table.”

The first winner was Chris Grant with ‘The Rockefeller’, Chris took it again for the second year with ‘The Rock Slide’. The third went to Brendan Hawks with ‘The Buddy’. The 5th went to a masked Chattanooga FC fan known as Lucha Nooga with “The Chattahooligan” and last year was the first female winner with Chloe Morrison’s “The Twisted Turkey”.
