Susan “Adele” Smith Holt, 59, of LaFayette, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018. She was born in Fort Payne, Al. to the late Reverend Glenn Aaron and Evelyn Nicholson Smith. She had resided most of her life in the LaFayette area, and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, and was the Lance-Lantz-Lence-Lentz historian.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Dale Holt.
She is survived by her fiancé’, Steve Brookhouser of LaFayette; their children, U.S. Army Major Aaron (Danielle) Holt of Conyers, Ga., Carrie (Chad Slaten) Mullins of Nashville, Tn., Eric Brookhouser of LaFayette, Christie Lynn Kelly of Washington State; brother, Mark A. (Meredith) Smith of Dawsonville, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and several nieces.
The family will receive friends Saturday an hour prior to the funeral. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 in the chapel. Burial will follow in Center Point Cemetery – Noble, Ga.
