Lee University will welcome Phil Wickham on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center to kick off the Spring U-Church lineup.

Mr. Wickham, who has always been surrounded by music, got an early start in the music industry. He began leading worship at his home church by the age of 13, and by 18, he had already recorded an independent album.

Mr. Wickham draws inspiration for his music from all around him. His second album, “Cannons,” was inspired by C.S. Lewis’ book, “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” the third in the Chronicles of Narnia series.

He has toured with Christian artists such as MercyMe and the David Crowder Band, among others. He has released 13 albums and had songs translated into seven different languages.

Mr. Wickham has had several top songs including “This is Amazing Grace,” which held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard’s National Christian Audience Chart for 13 straight weeks. His song, “At Your Name” is also a fan favorite.

In addition to the evening concert, Mr. Wickham will perform that morning in the Lee chapel service at 10:40 in the Conn Center.

Mr. Wickham’s U-Church performance will follow Lee’s Spring Convocation.

U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event open to students, alumni, and the community. Seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
