Rev. Ronnie L. Childress 74, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2018. A longtime resident of Rossville and North Georgia, he was pastor of several churches in the tri-state area including Beulah Chapel Baptist Church, Flatrock and Bethel Baptist Tabernacle, Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Childress, after being married to her for 43 years; his father and mother, Rev. and Mrs. J.H. Childress; and two sisters, Peggy Harp and Patricia Spurling.

He is survived by two whom he loved as is own children, Raymond J. Harp and Helen P. Harp; nephew, Chip (Teresa) Slack, of LaFayette; mother-in-law, Mary Broome McClain, Fort Oglethorpe; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sandra Broome, of Chickamauga.

A celebration of the life of God’s servant will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22 at Cloud Springs Baptist Church, with Pastor Bill Gardner and Pastor Marvin Fowler officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
