Starling Charged With Hitting Man In Head, Face With A Brick, Robbing Him

Police have charged Darrius Marshon Starling with hitting a man in the head and face with a brick and robbing him.

Starling, 26, of 2017 Laura St., is charged with especially aggravated robbery.

In the incident on Tuesday, police responded to Erlanger's Dodson Avenue Clinic. They found a man whose face was swollen and nose bloodied.

The man said he had been robbed by an unknown man on Milne Street. He said the man approached him and told him to "Give me what you got." 

He said when he told him no and started to walk away the man struck him in the back of the head with the brick. He said when he turned toward the man he struck him again on the left side of his face.

The man said he was briefly knocked unconscious. He said the man who hit him went through his pockets and stole $40.

He said he was able to walk to the clinic on Dodson Avenue. He was transported from there to Erlanger Hospital.

He said he was advised that he had a concussion and a broken jaw.

The victim said the suspect hangs out at 2203 Milne St. He said the man was a black male, 5"10", short dreads, and wearing all black clothing.

Police were able to locate Starling, and the victim picked him out of a photo lineup.

Starling has an extensive criminal record for assault, drugs, criminal trespass and burglary.
