Dalton Police Seek Identity Of Apple Watch Thief

  • Friday, January 26, 2018

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help with identifying a man who stole an Apple Watch that was left on a charger by a customer at a cell phone store. The suspect was recorded by store surveillance.

The incident happened on Wednesday, at the AT&T store on West Walnut Avenue. At approximately 1 p.m., a woman left her Apple Watch on a charging station in the display area of the store. When she came back to pick up her watch, it was gone. After checking the store’s surveillance cameras, the victim saw a man wearing a red winter hat and a red and black jacket and put a watch into his pocket. The suspect then left the store. The watch was later recovered at a nearby electronics store when a suspect came in to try to pair the stolen watch with a phone.

The suspect wore a red and black jacket with a red beanie hat and jeans and a thin goatee.

If anyone knows who he is or has more information about this crime, they should call Officer Katia Gonzalez at 706-278-9085 extension 9545 or by email at kgonzalez@cityofdalton-ga.gov.
