Cantrell, Wiram Resign At UTC After Public Indecency Charges

  • Wednesday, January 3, 2018

Two UTC employees charged with public indecency have resigned.

Chuck Cantrell and Joe Wiram turned in their resignations on Dec. 19.

They were arrested in early December at Cinema One on Rossville Boulevard.

Members of the city police Special Investigations Unit paid a visit to Cinema One after allegations that sexual activity was taking place inside the business.

Police said after entering the building they found Cantrell and Wiram engaged in a sex act.

Wiram was coordinator for veterans student services at UTC.

He was also charged with public indecency.

Cantrell was associate vice chancellor for communications and marketing.

A UTC employee for over 25 years, Cantrell was UTC’s primary spokesperson and he managed the campus’s operations in media relations, publications, marketing, advertising, web development, social media, and video production.
