UTC's Carr Named Wrestler Of The Week

 Chattanooga senior Bryce Carr has been named the Southern Conference wrestler of the week for all competition from Dec. 27-Jan. 2, the league office announced Wednesday.

Wrestling in the 184-pound division, Carr went 5-1, finishing third in the Southern Scuffle. Carr opened the Scuffle with two falls before defeating Northern Colorado’s 18-th-ranked Dylan Gabel via technical fall (16-1). After falling to No. 8 Drew Foster 2-0, Carr rebounded, earning a 2-1 decision over No. 19 Michael Coleman of Navy and a 4-3 decision over Nick Rennan of NC State.


A senior from Dublin, Georgia, Carr is currently ranked No. 15 by InterMarWrestle.com. This marks the second year in a row that Carr has finished third in the Southern Scuffle.

Also nominated: Korbin Meink (Campbell) and Hunter Starner (VMI).

One person was injured when fire broke out in a duplex Wednesday night in East Lake.
