Bredesen for Senate on Wednesday filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission reporting $518,070 raised during a 24-day holiday sprint in December.
On average, the Bredesen campaign raised $21,586 per day — on par with daily averages reported by other Tennessee U.S.
Senate campaigns, officials said.
The Bredesen campaign launched Dec. 7 with no fundraising apparatus or events.
“Governor Bredesen’s candidacy resulted in a natural outpouring of support as longtime and new friends rushed to contribute to a candidate they know will bring common sense back to Washington,” said April Orange, finance director for Bredesen for Senate. “With the holidays behind us, our campaign continues to see an outpouring of support that will help us amass the resources necessary to make our case to Tennessee voters and win in November.”
The next FEC report will be filed April 15, for the period ending March 31.
