  • Friday, January 5, 2018
No one was injured in a fire at 3501 Oak Ridge Dr. on Friday afternoon.

Shortly before 2 p.m., Chattanooga firefighters responded to the reported structure fire. Battalion Chief Don Bowman said the fire was located in a breaker box on the outside of the structure. The fire was starting to spread to the garage and kitchen, but the firefighters attacked the fire quickly and had it out in less than 10 minutes.

Chief Bowman said the the fire caused minimal damage and will be ruled accidental, most likely from an electrical malfunction.

With so many fire companies responding to fires on Friday, the decision was made to request a Mutual Aid Standby from neighboring fire departments. As a result, the Red Bank Fire Department responded in with Chattanooga to assist Engine 22, Quint 19, Quint 10 and Squad 20 on this fire.
