Mark Hall Is First To Pick Up For Brooks' House Seat; County Commission Members in Bradley Running Again

Bradley County Commission member Mark Hall was the first to pick up papers for the open District 24 House seat vacated by Kevin Brooks, who is running for mayor of Cleveland.

Several other candidates are expected to jump into the race.

Dan Howell, incumbent in District 22, is running again for that post.

Democrat Carl Lansden has picked up for the state Senate 9 seat held by Republican Todd Gardenhire.

Commissioner Hall had picked up papers earlier to run again for his commission seat. At that time all 14 incumbents had picked up to run again.

4B incumbent Howard Thompson

5A Jerry Cross, incumbent Bobby Goins

5B incumbent Jeff Yarber

6A Tim Mason, incumbent Dan Rawls

6B Cody Herron, Tommy Ledford, incumbent Robert Rominger

7A Floyd Clevenger, incumbent Mark Hall

7B Debbie Williams, incumbent Bill Winters

Longtime Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland, who is retiring after a record 26 years in office, endorsed Rep. Brooks as his successor at a joint press conference.

Incumbents Charlie McKenzie (1) and Bill Estes (2) have picked up for Cleveland City Council.

Lawrence D'Agata and Kenneth Webb have picked up for at-large council seats.

Cleveland City Council incumbents who have not picked up are Tom Cassada (3), David May (4) and Dale Hughes (5), Richard Banks (at large) and Avery Johnson (at large).

Troy Weathers has picked up for Cleveland School Board 4.
