Ulysses Sampler, 74, formerly of Chattanooga, died peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2018, surrounded by his loving family in Powder Springs, Ga.
He served Jehovah faithfully for 48 years with his mild-mannered and warm smile. Ulysses loved to help people in the ministry. At his death, he was serving as an elder in the Blair Bridge congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and had devoted himself as a faithful Shepherd to helping the flock in his care. All loved him who knew him.
Ulysses was preceded in death by his father and mother, L.J. and Essie Sampler; three brothers, Ernest, Don, and Lee Sampler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irma Sampler; three children, Terrance Thomas, Starla (David Beery, and Kevin (Kenya) Sampler; six grandchildren, Terrence Campbell, DeVante Wilkes, Briana Sampler, Jevan Sampler, Nickolas Sampler, and Rashaad Ogletree; six great-grandchildren; one aunt, Fannie Roberts; one uncle, Clem McCrary; sister-in-law, Shirley Sampler; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and countless friends.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. at 4850 Ewing Road, Building #2, Austell, Ga., 30106 with Thomas Means, Sr. officiating.
