Cleveland State Community College is hosting a Career Community Major Discovery Event on campus next Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the George L. Mathis Student Center. This event is designed to assist both current and prospective students in choosing a major and what path or “career community” will be best-suited for them.
Participants will be able to meet with faculty, staff and students from each career community. They will also be able to explore different academic majors and their related careers, get answers to any questions they may have about choosing a major and even start planning their spring semester class schedule.
Sandy Kirby, Career Services coordinator, said, “The Career Community Major Discovery Event is a great opportunity for our students to investigate various academic majors and career options in one place, at one time. Students can meet with departmental advisors and faculty members from different majors within each of our seven different career communities. The event will benefit all students; from students who are undecided about their major to students that want to explore their current major further. Don’t miss the chance to gather lots of information, helpful handouts and cool door prizes.”
The community is invited to attend this upcoming event. For more information, contact Ms. Kirby in the Counseling and Career Services Department at 423-473-2288 or email skirby03@clevelandstatecc.edu.
