Beene, Lemuel Thomas

Lemuel Thomas (Jack) Beene, 78, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Parkridge Medical Center after a recent illness.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Jack was born in 1940 and raised in Jasper, Tn. He requests he be laid to rest at the foot of Monteagle Mountain on a sunny day where all his family rests at the Bean Raulston Cemetery.

Jack graduated from Marion County High School and served our country in the United States Army. Some of Jack’s fondest memories were during his service to our country. Jack worked for TVA for many years and turned neighbors in to friends as he settled into the North Chattanooga area. He was an avid jazz listener with impeccable taste in art, ceramics, and home remodeling.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents,S.E Beene and his beloved mother Gladys; his beloved pets, Coco his cat , Lily, Lola, and Louise, his adored miniature schnauzers. 

In lieu of flowers or a formal service, Jack encourages us all to vote our conscience when we go to the polls this November and encourages all to exercise their right to be heard. 

Jack’s final wishes will be honored with financial donations being made to the following  Doctors without Borders, OXFAM America, American Civil Liberties Union, Southern Poverty Law Center, Human Rights Campaign, People for the American Way, Democracy for America, Servicemen's Legal Defense Network, and the Sierra Club- Tennessee Chapter.
