U.S. Air Force Veteran Retired From Erlanger Hospital As An Electrician

J. L. Perry, 71, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

Jerry was born in Pleasant Hill, Tn., to the late Jimmy and Ruth Perry.  He served our country in the Air Force and retired from the Air National Guard with over 33 years of service. Jerry retired from Erlanger Hospital as an electrician, with over 25 years of employment. He was of the Methodist faith.

Jerry (better known as Papa) had a big heart and wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of. The joy of his life was being around his family. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Jerry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy Lee Perry; children, Jason (Cheryl) Perry and Lora (Brandon) Lunsford; grandchildren, Dylan and Jase Perry, Leah and Emma Lunsford; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, and 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Jerry will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Jimmie Talley officiating.   

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
