A tractor-trailer driver from Pennsylvania was charged on Friday in the death of another truck driver.
The Dade County Sheriff's Office said Gustavo Rodriguez-Pagan was driving on Interstate 59 near Trenton when a head-on crash occurred.
His vehicle crossed the median and struck another tractor-trailer.
Authorities said they found Rodriguez-Pagan walking around the accident scene. The other driver was trapped in his truck and died at the scene.
The force of the crash completely detached his cab from its frame.
Rodriguez-Pagan was charged with DUI, first-degree homicide by vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to maintain land, and driving with emergency lane/median.
The wreck shut down Interstate 59 South for about six hours.
