Fort Payne Truck Driver Charged In Fatal Wreck In Dade County

A second truck driver has been charged with causing a fatal accident in Dade County.

Gustavo Rodriguez-Pagan was charged with DUI and with causing the death of another truck driver when he struck the other truck head-on on Friday on I-59.

Now, Stephen W.

Farmer, 35, of Fort Payne, is charged in a Monday wreck that claimed a life.

The Dade County Sheriff's Office said Farmer was trying to merge onto the freeway at 6:25 p.m. at Slygo Road when a car struck the rear of the trailer. The driver was killed. Two other vehicles were involved in that crash.
