A child who was found at a residence on W. 37th Street receiving CPR was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, Chattanooga Police said.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the death of the nine-month-old boy.
Officers went to 1020 W. 37th at 11:35 a.m. on Sunday. They found a child receiving CPR.
Hamilton County EMS responded and transported the child to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
CPD Violent Crimes and Special Victims Unit Investigators along with Child Protective Services responded to the scene to conduct the preliminary investigation.
The official cause of death will be determined by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police said the investigation into the facts surrounding the incident is ongoing.
