Nancy J. Cox, 78, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, surrounded by friends and family, on February 8, 2018, at 2:43 p.m.

Better known as “Tie Dye Nancy, she spent over 45 years creating tie dye garments and has colored the world for thousands of people. Her zeal for life and colorful disposition, which led her around the country, touched countless lives and will live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew her.
Raised in Michigan, she was one of seven children born in Davidson County, Tn., to Jesse Cox and Minnie Forrest. 

She was preceded in death by five of her siblings and her two of her nine children, Jill and Jodi Hicks. 

She is survived by her sister Barbara Hicks, and seven of her nine children; Joni Johnson, Jackie Hicks, Jimmy Hicks, Judy Wasiak, Becky Nicolich, Barbara Yohe, and Lisa Swayze, 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Caring Place, at 130 Wildwood Ave., in Cleveland, Tn.
