IRONMAN, a Wanda Sports Holdings company, Monday announced the results of its 2017 Athlete’s Choice Awards releasing the Top 10 scoring events in a variety of categories based solely off athlete surveys from all of the 2017 IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 races globally.
Out of the 39 IRONMAN series events that took place in 2017, the Little Debbie IRONMAN Chattanooga presented by McKee A Family ranked in the Top 10 in multiple categories, including a top honor for Best Restaurants marking a major accomplishment for the event and the host community, said officials.
The Little Debbie IRONMAN Chattanooga presented by McKee A Family was selected 1st in Best Restaurants, selected 4th in Best Host City Experience, selected 5th in Overall Swim, selected 5th in Best Race Venue, and tied for 8th in Best Post-Race Celebration, selected 8th in Best Music, and selected 9th in Overall Bike.
Additionally, out of the 102 IRONMAN 70.3 series events that took place in 2017, Sunbelt Bakery IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga presented by McKee A Family Bakery was selected 2nd Best Race Venue, 2nd for Will Recommend to a Friend, tied for 3rd Best Music, tied for 3rd Best Host City Experience, 5th Overall Bike, and 6th Best Restaurants.
For every IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3, event surveys were sent post event to all athletes who competed. Based on the cumulative results, the Top 10 global events were ranked. Surveys are on a 5-point satisfaction scale. There were over 55,000 total respondents for the survey.
