District 7 Commissioner Sabrena Smedley and District 9 Commissioner Chester Bankston will be the only County Commission members without opposition in the upcoming election - barring a last-minute entry.
The deadline to qualify was today at noon.
Steve Coker will be challenging current Chairman Randy Fairbanks in the District 1 Republican primary.
Republican Chip Baker, a former school board member will be on the ballot in District 2. Elizabeth Baker is running as a Democrat. Jim Fields is the only incumbent not running again.
Democrat Rosabelle Gorman plans to run against Republican incumbent Greg Martin in District 3.
Kelvin Scott, former member of the Election Commission, will be battling incumbent Warren Mackey in District 4. Both are Democrats. Chris Dahl is running as an Independent.
Incumbent Greg Beck will be opposed by Katherlyn Geter in the Democratic primary in District 5.
Democrat David Sharpe is going against incumbent Republican Joe Graham in District 6.
East Ridge Mayor Brent Lambert is trying to unseat incumbent Tim Boyd in District 8. Both are Republicans.
