Dalton State Sits In 2nd After First Round Of Georgetown Invitational

Dalton State shook off the winter rust firing a (+1, 289) to sit in second place after the first round of the Georgetown College Invitational at Slammer & Squire Course in St. Augustine, Fla. on Monday. #5-ranked Coastal Georgia leads after shooting (-9, 279).

#16 Southeastern (Fla.), (+2, 290), is in third, followed by #22 William Carey (Miss.), (+9, 297) in fourth. Webber International, (+11, 299), rounded out the top 5.

All-American P.J. Shields had the round of the day for the Roadrunners with a (-3, 69) and sits in a tie for second with Kyle Kidd of Coastal Georgia.
An (E, 72) would give Sport Allmond a spot in the Top-10 with Shields. Senior Dalton Johnson is in a tie for 13th after a round of (+1, 73).

All-American S.M. Lee is not far back after posting (+3, 75) for his round, while Ben Rebne would equal him to share 20th with five other golfers. Senior Chase Cole would have an up-and-down day on his way to a (+7, 79) playing as an individual.

The #2-ranked Roadrunners will be back on the course tomorrow, February 20, as they look to close out their first tournament of the Spring strong in the final round of the Georgetown College Invitational at Slammer and Squire Course in St. Augustine, Fla.
