Margie Hawkins Johnston Price, 99, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday morning, February 18, 2018 at the family residence.

Mrs. Price was the daughter of the late Pearl June Cochran Hawkins and James Burton "Jim" Hawkins. Her husbands, Thomas Lynn Johnston and Charles Price, her grandson, Zachary Michael Smith, her sisters, Jessmarie Ballew, Wilma Sue Brock and her brothers, Gerstal, Marvin, Vernon, J. B., Wincell, C. L., Kenneth and Julian Hawkins also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Price worked on the "Manhattan Project" in the 1940's in Oak Ridge, Tn. This project produced the atomic bomb. Along with her husband Lynn, they owned and operated Concrete Crafts for many years. She was a homemaker most of her life and a devoted caretaker of her family whom she deeply loved! She enjoyed the outdoors including Vacationing in Daytona Beach, working in her yard and vegetable and flower gardens and camping. Mrs. Price was a member of the Cloverleaf Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Rita Johnston, Sharon J. Smith and her husband Mike all of Cleveland, her grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Amy Ownby and her husband Ryan all of Cleveland, her great grandson, Garrett Ownby of Cleveland, her sisters, Velma June Randolph of Cleveland, Gladys Sampson and her husband Bobby and Ruth Ann Ledford all of Old Fort, her brother, Waymon Hawkins of Cleveland and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Reverend Joseph A. Kemper officiating.

Graveside services and Interment will be conducted on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Fort Hill Cemetery with Milburn, Ricky and Ray Hawkins, Ryan Ownby, Brence Mason and Harold Brock serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Ed Hawkins, Leland Hawkins and Cecil Hawkins.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
