Deborah McGill
Deborah Phillips McGill, 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2018.
She was of the Baptist faith and lived the majority of her life in East Ridge, recently residing in Ooltewah. She was a graduate of Chattanooga Central High School’s class of 69. She met a boy (Larry McGill) in eighth grade and stayed with him until she married the man on Sept. 25, 1971. They had one child together, Staci McGill Anderson and she spent the rest of her life devoting herself to her child and her three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isabelle Donohoo Phillips and James Edward Phillips, and aunt and uncle, Louise Donohoo Willhoit and Roy Willhoit.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry McGill and her daughter, Staci (Chris) Anderson and grandchildren, Morgan Prueitt (Chad), Emily Anderson, Callie Anderson and Chaz Anderson (Tayla), great grandchildren Nolan and McKinley Prueitt, Triven and Tyleigh Anderson.
A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday, March 1, at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. until service time.
Special thanks to Lindsey Phillips Weir (niece), Jennie Phillips Mahaffey (niece), Corbin Phillips (great nephew), Anita Davis Helton and Devin Baker for the laughter she heard in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Hospice Center of Chattanooga or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
