Nick Mercer
James “Nick” Mercer, age 56, of Dalton, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Erlanger Medical Center.
Mr. Mercer was a 1983 graduate of the Citadel Military College.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Jane Mercer; and father-in-law, Leon Thurman.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Melissa Trammell; two sons, Nicholas Elijah Mercer of Dalton and Noah Aaron Mercer of Adairsville; niece, Rebecca Mercer of Seattle, Wa.; and two brothers, Gary Mercer and Barry Mercer, both of Rocky Face.
The funeral service will be held Friday, March 2, at 2 p.m. in the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral home with Rev. Dewey Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Thursday, March 1, from 6-9 p.m.
