Harriette Evelyn Davenport Davis, affectionately known as “Johnnie”, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

She was educated in the Chattanooga public school system and graduated as valedictorian from Howard High School in 1942. She was married to William Burnell Davis, Jr. for 49 years.

Harriette is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Diane Davis Ulmer, Chattanooga; grandson, Dr. William Davenport Ulmer, Long Island, NY; niece, Dr. Sylvia (Keith) Wright, Atlanta, and Dr. Ashley Farmer Ade Adamson), Boston; great-great niece, Madeline Wright, Atlanta; niece, Dewana Dorsey and nephew, Dr. W.O. Dorsey, both of Chicago, and many dear friends.

The body will lie in state on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 12-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority's Omega Omega service will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, in the funeral home chapel, with Reverend William Terry Ladd III officiating.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery, at 12:30 p.m.

Driver Of Silverado Dies In Early Morning Wreck On Champion Road

The driver of a vehicle that wrecked on Champion Road early Tuesday morning was dead at the scene.
