Senator Bob Corker on Thursday applauded DENSO following an announcement Wednesday that the company will make a $190 million investment in its Athens plant, which will create 320 new jobs in McMinn County.
“DENSO investing $190 million and creating 320 new jobs in Athens is outstanding news for the people of McMinn County,” said Senator Corker.
“Tennessee’s business-friendly environment combined with the recent pro-growth tax reform at the federal level will continue to make our state the premier location for automotive-related manufacturing. I applaud DENSO for deepening their commitment to the Volunteer State and look forward to the company’s continued growth in the region.”
In September, DENSO announced a $1 billion investment in its Maryville facility, creating 1,000 jobs focused on electrification and safety systems.
