Cecil “Red” DeWayne McDowell, 95, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

He was a member at First Baptist Church of Ooltewah. He was retired from Wheland Foundry.

Cecil was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Annie Ruth McDowell and son, Michael David McDowell.

Survivors include his daughters, Louise (David) Young, Martha Arrieta, Betty Shell and Rita (John) Ramsey, eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the funeral home with Reverends Gerald Spence and Ronald McDowell officiating. Interment will follow at Johnston Cemetery.
